Steady-state Simulation under multisine excitation

Adam Cooman

In this blog post I detail the simulation steps needed to obtain the steady-state response of an electronic circuit under a multisine excitation. The techniques explained here are not new, many people in the past have performed similar simulations. It is however non-trivial to configure the simulator correctly, so I provide the theory and several examples to help you do this for your own circuits. The details explained here are based on the research done by Ludwig De Locht and Gerd Vandersteen [2]. For the implementation in Advanced Design System (ADS), I worked together closely with Piet Bronders.

This page contains the text of an appendix of my PhD thesis: Distortion Analysis of analog electronic circuits using modulated signals. The content was modified slightly to better fit the format of this website
